Dogsledding in Arctic Norway

Come together, come alone, you will soon be part of a team!
Maximum of 12 people, 6 days, 5 nights.


The adventure begins at Alta airport, where you are collected and shown to your very special “lavu” accommodation where you will spend the first and last night. A dogs welcome is certain plus anticipation of seeing the Northern Lights!

6 days, 5 nights, 4 days traversing Finnmarksvidda, a white dessert larger than Denmark. Discover nature at its rawest…

Clothing

Clothes are supplied from head to toe, suitable for the climate and weather you may experience:

  • Hat with ear flaps
  • Overalls, thick and warm
  • Gloves, Mittens
  • Boots and wollen socks
  • Sleeping bags to withstand -30 degrees. Don’t worry you won’t be sleeping outside!

Things you can bring:

  • sun glasses/ski goggles
  • warm undies/longjohns
  • wool or fleece sweater
  • scarf
  • thermals
  • thin gloves to wear under the mittens
  • thermos
  • camera
  • sun screen
  • small backpack
  • headlamp
  • swimwear/bathers
  • sleeping attire

Accommodation

The first and last night will be in upmarket Lavus, each with wood fire and large clear section, top to bottom, hopefully to enjoy the Northern Lights if they dance across the sky, from the comfort of your own bed!!. Across Finnmarksvidda we use “Hyttas” or cabins found throughout Norway. Hyttas are simple, cozy and clean. occasionally shared with your “team” and often others traversing this remote area. The last night, you can relax in the sauna and jacuzzi recounting the whole experience, prior to a beautifully prepared farewell dinner. Hot tubs and jacuzzis are available along the track for a small fee.

Meals

All inclusive. You can bring alcohol and other beverages, but remember that there is a limit to what weight the dogs can carry.

Cost

16,990Kr per person. (Approx AU$2700, GBP 1700 depending upon exchange rates)
Weather can be extreme in this part of the world! Plans may have to be changed and our guide reserves the right to change the itinerary or cancel the tour if conditions appear unsafe.
